In this article, we are going to elaborate more on the ‘Present Perfect Tense’ and going to cover the remaining portion of the sentence structures.  This is forming short questions such as yes/no, or descriptive questions and answers. It is used when we want to get information about something like asking some about their past experience.

Forming short answer questions:

Structure: Have/has + Subject + Past participle

Example:
Question- Have you climbed the Mountain G2?
Ans.        - Yes, I have.
Ans.        - No, I haven’t.

Forming Long answer questions:

Structure: Wh-Questions + have/has + Subject + Past participle

Wh-words list:

Who
What
Where
How
Which

The formation of Wh-questions is easy just put Wh-words at the beginning of the sentence. Here is the example,

Question- When have you climbed the Mountain G2?
Ans-  I have climbed the mountain when I was 20.

Similarly, we can form a question answers in whatever wh-words are.

In the ‘Present Perfect Tense,’ there are many adverbs that used frequently. They are Ever, Never, Yet, Already. Below is the table showing how to use each adverb and its meaning.

Experienced at some time in your life

Statements (Negative)
Not Experienced at some time in your life.
Yet
Questions (Affirmative/Negative) and Statements (Negative)
Not finished or completed the task but believe you will do it.
Already
Questions (Affirmative/Negative) and Statements (Negative)
The task is completed, Not intended to do it again.


Now we are familiar with forming questions let’s look at how adverbs are used in the questions.

      1)    Ever

Structure: Have/has + Subject + ‘Ever’ + Past participle

      2)    Never

Structure: Have/has + Subject + ‘Never’ + Past participle

Example:
Que.- Have you ever been to the U. K?
Ans-  Yes, I have been to the U. K.
Ans-  No, I have never been to the U. K.

NOTE: DO NOT USE ‘NOT’ AND NEVER IN THE SAME SENTENCE

Wrong usage: I have not never been to the U. K.

   3)    Yet:

Example:
Ques.- Have you finished your work yet?
Ans:  -Yes, I’ve finished.
          -No, I haven’t finished it yet.

       4)    Already:

Example:

Ques.- Have you finished your work yet? We are already late to the party.
Ans. - Yes, I’ve already finished.
                   Or
Ans. - Yes, I’ve finished already.

More examples:

Ques. – Haven’t you worked on this topic yet? It’s important.
Ans. – No, I haven’t worked on it yet.
Ans. -Yes, I’ve already worked on it.
                   Or
Ans. -Yes, I’ve worked on it already.
